Eating Fruit After Meals = A Disguised Way to Harm Your Stomach

Many people are used to eating fruit immediately after meals, thinking it aids digestion, but it actually harms the stomach. The simple sugars and organic acids in fruit mix with undigested food in the stomach, prolonging the residence time and leading to fermentation and gas production, causing bloating and acid reflux. Eating fruit on an empty stomach allows for more efficient nutrient absorption, while eating it after meals increases the burden on the gastrointestinal tract.
